Three Pattonville principals named for 2026-2027 school year

The Pattonville Board of Education, on Dec. 9, approved the selection of three individuals to serve in principal positions in Pattonville schools beginning on July 1, 2026. The schools and principals selected for that building are:

  • Drummond Elementary School - Carley Tankersley
  • Parkwood Elementary School - Dr. De’Vion Moore
  • Academy of Innovation at Remington - Nick Morgan

Tankersley has been the school’s assistant principal for the past four years and, prior to that, served as an administrative intern at Parkwood Elementary School for two years. She started her teaching career at Drummond, where she was a third and fourth grade teacher for four years. Tankersley has a master’s degree and an educational specialist’s degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Graceland University. Tankersley will enter the principal position which is being vacated by Jason Van Beers, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Moore joins Pattonville with 14 years of school experience. Currently, he is an assistant principal at Capital City High School in the Jefferson City School District. Prior to that, Moore was the chief academic officer, assistant superintendent for elementary education, elementary principal and assistant principal and a high school learning specialist, all in Columbia Public Schools. Moore has a doctorate in educational leadership from William Woods University and, from the University of Missouri (Mizzou), an educational specialist degree in educational leadership and policy analysis, a master’s degree in educational and counseling psychology and a bachelor’s degree in political science. Moore enters a position being vacated by Melissa Yount-Ott at the end of the school year.

Morgan returns to Pattonville after serving as an assistant principal at Rockwood South Middle School for four years. Prior to that, he was the administrative intern at Willow Brook Elementary School and a fifth grade teacher at Drummond Elementary School. Morgan also worked as a special education teacher with the Special School District and at Lehi Elementary School in Mesa, Arizona. Morgan has a master’s degree in school administration from Lindenwood University and a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from Northern Arizona University. Morgan enters a position being vacated by Dr. Don Furjes, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
