Students, staff recognized at the April 14 board meeting

Each month during the school year, the Pattonville Board of Education honors students, staff and volunteers who have gained recognition outside of the district or who’ve made a special contribution to Pattonville. Learn more about students and staff who were recognized this month.

Pattonville High School

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball team was named conference champions on Feb. 25 after a 51 to 31 win over Ritenour High School. The team advanced to the second round of the district tournament after winning 77 to 33 against Hazelwood West High School in the first round. Students also received all-conference honors this season. Evan Longmeyer was named all-state, all-district and all-conference first team and all-conference player of the year. Additional students were named to all-conference teams. Jackson Powell was named all-conference first team. Terrell Lyles was named all-conference second team. Mason Clay was named to the all-conference all-defensive team. Alex Toler was named all-conference honorable mention and was selected to receive the all-conference sportsmanship award. Additional members of the first place conference team were Jayce Acklin, David Foston III, Everett Harmon, Benjamin Heimsoth, Marcus Hughes, Jeff Johnson, Jormah Kanneh, Blake Williamson and Trent Wilson. The boys basketball team was coached by Travis Harris, who was named coach of the year, with the assistance of Kent Booth.


Girls Basketball

Girls basketball students were named to all-conference teams this season. Rylan Denbow was named all-conference second team and academic all-conference. London Bell was selected to receive the all-conference sportsmanship award. Students named academic all-conference were Jasmine Jones, Sophia Massoni, Omolola Ogunmola and Octavia Saunders-McClain. The girls basketball team was coached by Raghib Muhammad with the assistance of Chelsea Clark, Chris Gleghorn and Marcus Hughes.


Boys Wrestling

The boys wrestling team was named conference champions and members of the team earned individual all-conference honors. Three students qualified for the state tournament after placing fourth at districts and were named all-conference first team Jace Prabhu, Damien Rodriguez and Josh Schindler. Named all-conference second team were Moussa Abraheem, Elijah Hopgood and John Ignacio. Students named all-conference honorable mention were Gruxton Hartley, Temujin Kibo-Gue, Ezekiel Schaefer, Marvin Williams and Maximilian Zenner. Additionally, Drew Killian was selected to receive the all-conference sportsmanship award. Additional members of the first place conference championship team were Tahj Dillon, Kaileb Rickmon, Michael Saccketti and Jordan Whitfield. The boys wrestling team was coached by Brent Mueller, who was named conference coach of the year. The team was coached with the assistance of Jon Brown, Jake Kim and Eric Linck.


Girls Wrestling

The girls wrestling team was named conference champions and students were named to all-conference teams. Two students qualified for state after placing at districts and were named all-conference first team. Tanise Rhodes placed third at districts. Aleeya Thompson placed fourth at districts, and this was her second year qualifying for state. Students named all-conference second team were Ali Amal, Gracie Mantle, Samantha Mokwa, Journie Porter and Amaya Wren. Students named all-conference honorable mention were Alayna Arndt, Lily-Elizabeth Gamiño-Piñón, Lexi Lam and
Isabella Sanfilippo, who was also selected to receive the all-conference sportsmanship award. Kalia Fox was also part of the first place conference team. The girls wrestling team was coached by Paige Mueller, who was named conference coach of the year, with the assistance of Danelle Emerick.
