Stadium named in honor of board member Jeanne Schottmueller

Board vice president Lisa Kickbusch presents board president Jeanne Schottmueller a framed version of the board-approved resolution to name the stadium after her.

During the Sept. 8 Pattonville Board of Education meeting, current board president Jeanne Schottmueller was honored for her service to the Pattonville School District when the six remaining board members unanimously approved a resolution naming the existing Pattonville High School stadium Schottmueller Stadium in honor of her service to the Pattonville School District and community. The resolution recognized Schottmueller for serving “with honor, integrity and great distinction” and for her work supporting public education in Pattonville, St. Louis County and the state of Missouri.

During her 18 years on the board, Schottmueller has been a leading force in helping Pattonville grow academically and earn numerous state and national honors. The district has received recognition for academic performance, college and career readiness, STEM and other programs, while individual schools and programs have earned honors including a National Blue Ribbon School designation and recognition as a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished High School.

Schottmueller also served on the board when voters approved three bond issues totaling $175 million. Those funds supported facility updates and repairs, safety and security improvements, renovated school entrances, classroom additions and new learning and activity spaces throughout the district. At Pattonville High School, the improvements included the aquatic complex, stadium and field, and black box theater. Schottmueller’s tenure also included a voter-approved tax increase that helped the district prevent budget cuts and sustain staffing, programs and transportation for students.

Schottmueller will officially retire from the Pattonville Board of Education on April 13, 2027. The naming of Schottmueller Stadium recognizes not only her time on the board of education, but her commitment to the students, families, staff and community she has served throughout her tenure.
