Notes from the Dec. 9 board meeting

Board Actions 

The board of education on Dec. 9:

  • Heard a Prop S update on current construction work;
  • Reviewed and accepted an evaluation of the district’s teaching and learning program; read the report or view the presentation;
  • Approved paying $3,901,744.27 for regular bills;
  • Approved, subject to audit, the financial statements for October 2025;
  • Approved paying $155,073.55 for purchases made on Pattonville’s purchasing cards;
  • Approved investments for October 2025;
  • Declared a list of items as surplus to be sold on the district’s GovDeals page;
  • Approved the district financial audit for the 2024-2025 school year, as reviewed by the District Audit Committee and presented at the board meeting; view the presentation;
  • Lodged for action the review of policy FJ (Temporary School Facilities); revisions to policies FB (Facilities Planning) and FF (Naming Rights); and the rescission of policies EEAG (Student Transportation reporting), FFB (Naming Rights), FFB-2 (Names on Building Plaques) and FH (Staff Orientation to New Facilities); a vote is expected at the Jan. 13 meeting;
  • Approved payment to EducationPlus for the balance of the 2025-2026 annual membership dues (40%) for $14,516.12;
  • Approved curriculum course change recommendations for the 2026-2027 school year; 
  • Adopted instructional materials for K-5 math education for $1101,152.80;
  • Lodged for action the 2026-2027 2027-2028 and 2028-2029 school calendars; a vote is expected at the Jan. 13 meeting;
  • Adopted the Local Plan for Compliance with State Regulations for the Early Childhood program, as updated by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE);
  • Approved, as lodged for action Nov. 11, the revisions to policies IGBA (Special Education), JFCA (Student Dress Code), JFCJ (Weapons in School), JGF (Discipline Reporting and Records) and JHG (Reporting and Investigating Child Abuse/Neglect); and
  • Accepted the service agreement and memorandum of understanding with BJC Behavioral Health.

Retirements

  • Maureen Buerck, guidance administrative assistant at Holman, after serving Pattonville for three years
  • Amy Christensen, second grade teacher at Rose Acres, after serving Pattonville for 27 years
  • Beth Kathriner, art teacher at the high School, after serving Pattonville for 32 years
  • Karrie Peters, sixth grade teacher at Remington, after serving Pattonville for 26 years
  • Karleen Schrumpf, administrative assistant in ALPHA at Holman, after serving Pattonville for seven years
