116 students selected by staff as Pattonville High School MVPs

Staff members at Pattonville High School presented their MVP (Most Valuable Pirate) Awards to 116 students in grades nine through 12. Each staff member selected one outstanding student to receive an MVP medallion award during a special awards ceremony at the school on April 16. 

High school teachers and support staff annually select a student to honor for Most Valuable Pirate. Any student is eligible for nomination, regardless of the reason. There's no strict criteria — they can be selected based on academic excellence, overcoming obstacles, worth ethic, personality, character, extracurricular participation, and more. 

One student was selected as an MVP for the third time. Twenty-two students were second time recipients and 93 were first-time recipients. 

The program was sponsored by the school's Renaissance program, which encourages a commitment to academic excellence based upon recognition of academic performance, attendance and citizenship. 

The following students crossed the stage and met the staff member that selected them as their nomination was read aloud to those in the audience.  

Tahj Dillon (Cynthia Hall) received their third MVP Award.
