Pattonville celebrates homecoming

Students participate in homecoming festivities in the stands at a football game.

Pattonville pirates of all ages came out this weekend to celebrate homecoming. On Friday, Oct. 10, the Pirates played a blowout game against the Hazelwood Central Hawks, winning 43-6. During halftime, the drill team presented their traditional homecoming performance and the marching band and guard performed their award-winning show called “A Gothic Glow.” Also during halftime, the homecoming court was presented and seniors Aliya Curry and Drew Killian were named queen and king, respectively. The cheerleaders also pepped the crowd throughout the game.

Saturday, Oct. 11 started off with a K-8 half mile fun run. At 10 a.m., the annual homecoming parade begin. Floats matched this year’s homecoming theme: Together Through the Seasons. Before the parade started, all of the floats were judged, with the following groups receiving honors:

  • Green and White (best community float) - Dance Factory
  • Traveling Trophy (best elementary/middle school float) - Parkwood Elementary School
  • Outstanding Class Float - Senior Class
  • Pete’s Pick (Outstanding student club/organization/sport float) - high school softball team
