Notes from the June 9 board meeting

Board Actions 

The board of education on June 9:

  • Heard a Prop S update on current construction work;
  • Reviewed and approved the budget for the 2026-2027 school year; read the report or view the presentation
  • Approved paying $5,590,011.30 for regular bills;
  • Approved, subject to audit, the financial statements for April 2026;
  • Approved paying $165,633.08 for purchases made on Pattonville’s purchasing cards;
  • Approved investments for April 2026;
  • Declared a list of items as surplus to be sold on the district’s GovDeals page;
  • Approved the list of 2026-2027 grants; see the list;
  • Adopted the resolution declaring official intent to reimburse certain project costs with proceeds of bonds;
  • Lodged for action the 2025-2026 budget revisions; a vote is expected at the July 28 meeting;
  • Approved the resolution authorizing disbursement of funds authorizing the chief financial officer to issue and disburse payments drawn on the district’s bank accounts to employees, creditors, vendors and others who are owed money by the district;
  • Approved meal prices for the 2026-2027 school year; breakfast remains free for all students, elementary lunch is $3.15 and secondary lunch is $3.30; 
  • Approved the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) Contract Amendment No. 11 not to exceed $21,467,042.00 with S.M. Wilson & Co.;  taken together, between the Amendments and change orders, the entire contract sum is guaranteed by the construction manager not to exceed $102,281,261;
  • Approved payment to EducationPlus for the 2026-2027 annual membership dues for $36,205.05;
  • Approved the contract with the Special School District (SSD) for general education services for homebound students for the 2026-2027 school year;
  • Lodged for action the revisions to policies BBA (School Board Powers and Duties), BCE (Advisory Committees to the Board), BDDG (Minutes), BF (Board Policy Development), BI (School Board Legislative Program), and the rescission of policy BJ (School Board Memberships); a vote is expected at the July 28 meeting;
  • Approved the instructional materials adoption for K-12 physical education for $282,710;
  • Approved the instructional materials adoption for instrumental music for grades 5-12 for $80,000;
  • Approved the recommended course changes for the 2026-2027 school year;
  • Adopted the local plan for compliance with state regulations for the Pattonville Early Childhood program, as updated by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE);
  • Lodged for action the revisions to the 2026-2027 student behavior guides; a vote is expected at the July 28 meeting;
  • Approved the recommended number of paraprofessionals for the 2026-2027 school year;
  • Approved, as lodged for action on May 12, the adoption of policy AFA (Data Reporting), the readoption of policy BCG (School Attorney) and revisions to policies AA (School District Legal Status), AD (School District Mission) and IIA (Instructional Materials);
  • Approved the renewal of the food service management company (FSMC) costs plus fee agreement with Chartwells for July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, for an estimated amount of $2,110,000;
  • Approved the sponsor agreement with SSM Health for a three-year term;
  • Approved the renewal of malware and virus monitoring software from SentinelOne for $18,261.43 per year for three years, totaling $54,784.28;
  • Approved the purchase of Mind Education K-2 math licenses for July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, for $24,000;
  • Approved the renewal of Automatic Controls Equipment Systems, Inc. (ACES) support services for three years for $67,549; the amount per year is $21,639 for year one, $22,505 for year two and $23,405 for year;
  • Awarded the bid for a mini-split cooling unit in the Pattonville High School server room to Elite Mechanical LLC for $22,912;
  • Approved the agreement with Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) for services for personalized learning work during the 2026-2027 school year at elementary schools districtwide for $140,648;
  • Awarded the bid for elementary heart rate monitors required for the P.E. curriculum to Polar Education for $25,635;
  • Approved the purchase of Cidilabs ADA add-on for secondary Canvas LMS for July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, for $16,740;
  • Approved the purchase and installation of exercise equipment from Johnson Fitness and Wellness for $103,683;
  • Approved the renewal of a three-year agreement with SSM Health Care St. Louis for athletic trainer services at Pattonville High School for $84,360; the amount per year is $27,300 for year one, $28,100 for year two and $28,960 for year three; and 
  • Approved the purchase of content filtering, student monitoring services and hall pass software from Securly, Inc., for $79,153.
