Notes from the April 14 board meeting

Board Actions 

The board of education on April 14:

  • Heard a Prop S update on current construction work;
  • Reviewed and accepted an evaluation of the safety and facilities program; read the report or view the presentation;
  • Approved paying $4,595,951.87 for regular bills;
  • Approved, subject to audit, the financial statements for February 2026;
  • Approved paying $121,708.45 for purchases made on Pattonville’s purchasing cards;
  • Approved investments for February 2026;
  • Declared a list of items as surplus to be sold on the district’s GovDeals page;
  • Lodged for action the adoption of policy IGDAA (Resident Participant Student Involvement in Activities and Events); readoption of policies IFB-R (Pilot Projects and Programs), IGAEA (Teaching About Drugs, Alcohol and Tobacco), and KLB (Public Questions, Comments or Concerns Regarding District Instructional/Media/Library Materials); revision of policies IGA (Basic Instructional Program), IIAC (Library Materials Selection and Adoption), IIAC-R (Library Materials Section-Adoption Procedures), and KLB-R (Public Complaints Regarding Instructional/Media/Library Materials); and the rescission of policy IIACA-R ("Weeding" of Library Materials Procedure); a vote is expected at the May 12 meeting;
  • Approved the purchase and installation of classroom furniture for Bridgeway Elementary School from Modern Business Inc., for $48,757.53;
  • Renewed a contract with CareATC to operate the district’s employee health clinic for the next three contract years, ending Sept. 30, 2029;
  • Awarded the bid for turf maintenance and fertilization to Landesign Plus LLC for April 2026 through December 2026, with an option to renew four additional 12-month periods, for $54,071;
  • Approved the purchase and installation of furniture for the Pattonville Heights Middle School library from Modern Business Interiors, Inc., for $110,035.12; and
  • Awarded the bid for lawn mowing services, for the period of April 2026 through December 2026 with four additional 10-month terms, to Moody's Mowing for an estimated five-year amount of $430,133.08.

  • Kimberly James, lead cook at Parkwood, after serving Pattonville for 12 years
  • Jackie Ramey, reading teacher at Holman, after serving Pattonville for 31 years
  • Jennifer Wasmer, auditorium technician at the high school, after serving Pattonville for 29 years
  • Christine Young, instructional specialist teacher at Willow Brook, after serving Pattonville for 19 years
