Rainwater named a special education coordinator in Pattonville
The Special School District Board of Education on June 11 approved the selection of April Rainwater as the special education coordinator for Parkwood and Willow Brook elementary schools and the Academy of Innovation at Remington, effective July 1.
Rainwater is currently a special education teacher in SSD in the Mehlville School District and also serves as an after-school SNAP (Special Non-Public Access Program) teacher. She began her teaching career at Holman Middle School as a special education center-based classroom teacher and as a social-emotional and behavioral (SEB) classroom teacher. Rainwater earned an associate degree in education from Jefferson College as well as a bachelor’s degree in education, two master’s degrees, one in teaching and the other in administration, and an educational specialist degree from Missouri Baptist University.
Rainwater is filling the position being vacated by Carla Addoh, who is retiring at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
