Pattonville celebrates Youth Art Month

Students in Pattonville celebrated Youth Art Month in March through an art display at the Pattonville Learning Center. This art show includes K-12 students from across the district.

Throughout the school year, students across Pattonville explore various materials and techniques that are used to create their art. The art on display highlights various mediums, including painting, drawing and charcoal, and pictures of 3D design pieces like ceramics and sculptures. Students’ art was selected for the show for various reasons, including outstanding design and student dedication and passion. The art will be on display through March 31.

“Pattonville art teachers are thrilled to present the Learning Center's Youth Art Month (YAM) exhibition, a celebration of the extraordinary artistic talent within our K-12 student body,” Holman Middle School art teacher Montie Richter said. “Our dedicated art teachers have carefully selected a diverse collection of works, each reflecting the unique vision and passion of its creator. This show is a powerful demonstration of the vast array of talent our students possess, and we are proud to provide a public space to honor their achievements.”

Youth Art Month occurs annually in March and is a national celebration that promotes art education and appreciation. The program is administered by the Council for Art Education (CFAE). Youth Art Month highlights the value of art education, encourages support for quality school art programs, promotes art appreciation for all people and recognizes art education as a vital part of the total education curriculum.
