Cara Hiripitiyage named assistant superintendent of teaching and learning

The Pattonville Board of Education on Dec. 10 approved the selection of Dr. Cara Hiripitiyage as the assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, effective July 1.

Hiripitiyage is currently the director of secondary education in Pattonville. Prior to that, she was an assistant principal at Pattonville High School and an English teacher in the Lindbergh School District. 

Hiripitiyage has a bachelor’s degree in English from Maryville University, a master’s in educational administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville. She is also an adjunct professor at Maryville.
