|PHS administrator named Missouri Assistant Principal of the Year|

Pattonville High School assistant principal Dr. Jon Fitzgerald was surprised on Nov. 13 with the news he was chosen as Missouri Assistant Principal of the Year by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MoASSP). He is now Missouri's nomination for the National Assistant Principal of the Year.
Clark Mershon, MoASSP executive director, and Doug Mirts, MoASSP director of programming, were on hand to announce the news during a special gathering of students in the POSITIVE School, an alternative program at Pattonville High School.
Fitzgerald was hired as an assistant principal at Pattonville High School in 2012 and previously worked as a social studies teacher at the high school as well as an administrative intern. He previously served as a middle school social studies teacher in the St. Louis Public Schools district. Fitzgerald holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education in social studies from Southeast Missouri State University, a master's degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Maryville University.
His administrative duties at Pattonville High School include working with the career and technical education department, iLearn, Project Lead the Way programs (biomedical science, computer science and engineering) and POSITIVE School.
