Pattonville High School is listed among the top high schools in Missouri and the nation on U.S. News and World Report’s 2018 Best High Schools ranking. For the second time since 2013, Pattonville earned a silver medal on this year’s list and was ranked as No. 28 out of 495 high schools in Missouri, placing it in the Top 6 percent of high schools in the state. Nationally, the high school was ranked in the Top 13 percent of high schools. This is the fifth time Pattonville earned a spot on U.S. News’ Best High Schools list in the last six years. Last year, the high school earned the bronze award.

Badge-HighSchools-Silver-Year.png"This recognition serves as a testament to the hard work, dedication and innovation that you show our students each day,” Dr. Joe Dobrinic, high school principal, told his staff when announcing the award. “Congratulations on a job well done.”

Pattonville superintendent Dr. Mike Fulton echoed his thoughts.

“Pattonville High School consistently ranks among the top-tier high schools in Missouri and the U.S.,” he said. “Their success is no accident. Our school community works hard every day to design and deliver meaningful learning experiences with the goal of ensuring every student is college and career ready when they graduate. This recognition is a tribute to the work of our entire school family. I congratulate our outstanding elementary and middle schools which prepare students for success on high school coursework and to PHS for a job well done.”

U.S. News evaluated more than 20,000 public high schools in the nation, awarding schools that made the rankings list a gold, silver or bronze medal based on their performance on state assessments both as a whole and for underserved students, graduation rates and college readiness. In Missouri, 162 high schools made the rankings, but only 29 schools earned the top two medals, including Pattonville. The college readiness index is based on participation in Advanced Placement (AP) courses, which U.S. News says “measures the degree to which students are exposed to and pass some college-level material while in high school.”
