Career Pathways

I want to explore specific career pathways and engage in hands-on learning.

Pattonville offers a range of programs and courses that provide students with opportunities to explore career paths, learn more about their interests, and prepare for life beyond high school-- either in college or directly in the workforce.  Our Project Lead The Way (PLTW) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, along with our partnership with North Tech, provide students pathways to rewarding and engaging careers through hands-on, career-specific projects and tasks.

Explore Courses that Can Prepare You for the Career of Your Choice

Pattonville offers series of classes called pathways as well as individual classes that can help prepare students for careers in the future ... or simply give them a taste of what's involved in different careers. Explore the sixteen career clusters below to find out more about these pathways and classes. Learn more about how students earn college credit through these pathways and courses as well.

More Opportunities with North Technical High School

Want to learn about automotive technology, graphic design, or cosmetology? How about becoming a veterinarian assistant or an EMT? Through a partnership with the Special School District (SSD), Pattonville students can attend North Technical High School to explore a range of career paths and prepare for college, technical school, or the workforce. Students selected for the program attend classes at both Pattonville High School and North Tech. Partial day schedules keep students engaged in their home high school academics and activities.

Juniors and seniors can explore 23 partial-day career-focused programs, each designed to prepare them for college, careers, and the demands of today's workforce. Sophomores have the opportunity to try a variety of programs in the Sophomore Career Exploration program. See below for a list of all North Tech programs.

Every program combines hands-on learning with real-world experiences and opportunities to connect with industry professionals. Whether working in shops and labs, completing internships, participating in clinical rotations, job shadowing, or tackling complex projects, students gain a clearer understanding of their strengths and interests before graduating. Along the way, they build valuable skills, earn college credit and industry credentials, and graduate with the knowledge and experience to confidently take their next step.

North Tech offers tuition-free majors that allow students to explore their career interests while earning industry certifications, college and high school credit and skills that will last a lifetime.  Learn more about North Technical High School and its many opportunities.
