Assessments

Assessments are more meaningful for the student when it connects directly to their personal goals. After a student has identified goals in their ICAP, they identify the appropriate assessment that aligns with that goal.

High School Qualifying Assessments

High school goal-aligned assessments include:

  • Four-Year College or University: ACT or SAT
  • Community College: Accuplacer
  • Workforce or Military: ACT WorkKeys or ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)

Once a student has identified goals in their Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP), the student then identifies the appropriate assessment that aligns with the ICAP goal(s). In this way, the assessments are more meaningful for the student since the assessment connects directly to their personal goals.

Percent of graduates with goal-aligned assessments:

  • Class of 2022-23: 82%
  • Class of 2023-24: 90%

Grades 3-8 Interim Assessments

Pattonville utilizes Renaissance's Star Assessment to provide teachers, students, and parents with data to understand and inform student learning. The data help us understand our students' academic readiness, growth, and academic readiness by growth. These are the indicators that we utilize to assess our students' learning.

Parkwood second graders and their teacher talk about meeting learning targets for their writing. They share how students know when they have mastered specific skills. Students use the following steps: Getting Started, In Progress and Mastery. Students use I Can statements for each step to help identify where they are within the learning progress goals and where they are as a writer.
