Data Dashboard
The Pattonville School District is committed to helping every student succeed and are committed to preparing students for success in a rapidly changing world. That’s why we’re using a real-time dashboard to track important data about student progress, like the quantitative and qualitative indicators that help inform how we prepare each student for success in life. This tool, created in collaboration with the Success-Ready Students Network (SRSN), gives families, teachers and community members a clear view of how we’re supporting student growth and preparing them for the future.
Through the SRSN partnership, Pattonville is one of 25 Missouri school districts using growth-based assessments to measure academic achievement. This approach gives a more accurate picture of how students are growing academically. Key components of the improved measurement are:
- Measuring student growth multiple times throughout the school year;
- Providing immediate, timely feedback for the student, teacher and parents;
- Providing students with awareness of where they are and engaging them in setting goals;
- Using different pathways and varied pacing to assist in active student learning;
- Assessing student progress based on evidence of mastery, not seat time; and
- Engaging students in real-world learning experiences that support high school, college, career and workplace readiness.
Our goal is to keep everyone informed and focused on student success. By sharing this data regularly, we’re ensuring that each student gets the support they need to be ready for college, careers and life after graduation. This dashboard is the first step in the creation of dashboards for various district audiences to guide improvement efforts that impact student learning.

College, Career and Workplace Readiness
At Pattonville, we help students take charge of their future with an Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP). This plan helps students set personal goals and build a portfolio of evidence that showcases their readiness for any path they choose after high school.
Through their ICAP, students can gain valuable experiences and skills by earning certifications, completing assessments and showing what they’ve learned in their courses. These activities — called Market Value Assets (MVAs) — are a key part of preparing for life after graduation. The more students engage in these opportunities, the more ready they’ll be for their post-high school experiences.
Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP)
The ICAP is a roadmap to help students develop the awareness, knowledge, attitudes and skills to create their own meaningful pathways to be success ready graduates. It is a multi-year process, beginning in eighth grade, which intentionally guides students and families in the exploration of career, academic and multiple post-secondary opportunities.
Qualifying Assessments
Once a student has identified goals in their ICAP, they then identify the appropriate assessment that aligns with that goal. For this reason, the assessments are more meaningful for the student since it connects directly to their personal goals. Qualifying assessments include: ACT, SAT, WorkKeys, Accuplacer and Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).
Market Value Assets
Market Value Assets (MVA) are skills in high demand by employers that can be placed on a resume or portfolio, such as career and technical educational certificates, college credit coursework, qualifying assessments, entrepreneurial experiences, industry-recognized credentials and work experiences including internships or extended learning opportunities (ELOs).
End of Course Exams
An End of Course (EOC) exam is an assessment that measures specific skills defined for a course in content areas determined by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Missouri students are required to complete the following end-of-course exams prior to high school graduation: Algebra I, Biology, English II and Government.
Graduation Rate
Graduation data indicates students completing graduation requirements as well as their paths after high school. Graduation rate is calculated based on the percent of students who complete an educational program that meets the graduation requirement of 24 credits. Students in Missouri may complete requirements in four but no more than seven years.
Graduation Follow Up
Graduation follow-up measures the extent to which students pursue gainful opportunities after graduation. Graduates must meet one of the five identified categories: college enrollment; trade/technical school; employment; military service; and/or national or community service or Peace Corps.
High School Readiness
High School Readiness shows how prepared a student is for success in grades 9-12. We want every student to feel confident and prepared as they move into high school.
Districts use one of several approved interim assessment tools to measure the impact of instruction on student learning. These assessments give us a snapshot of where students stand right now and how they’ve grown over time. The results help students understand their progress and guide teachers in planning lessons that meet each student’s needs.
Pattonville uses STAR testing to see how students are doing in key subjects like English language arts (ELA) and math from grades 3-8. Use the dashboard below to see how students are progressing.

Success Ready Students Network
On Aug. 15, the Missouri State Board of Education approved a three-year innovation waiver for 20 school districts that are part of the Success-Ready Students Network’s (SRSN) System Design Zone (SDZ), including Pattonville School District. The SDZ supports the creation of a more meaningful way to measure student learning, demonstrate individual student growth and influence future success for all Missouri students. The districts in the SDZ asked the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for exemptions from specific state requirements in order to improve student readiness for their post-high school life and promote professional learning for teachers. With the waiver, SDZ districts will have the opportunity to to use growth-based assessments throughout the school year, rather than just using Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) as the sole measure of academic achievement. The three-year pilot program enables these districts to use more frequent, adaptive assessments that provide timely feedback to teachers and students throughout the school year. This approach to assessment aligns with current district work and represents a significant shift in Missouri's educational landscape toward a more personalized, competency-based learning mindset rooted in real-world learning experiences.. The districts will use information from these assessments to design an alternative to the MSIP 6 accountability system that supports students in being high school, college, career and workplace ready.
