The Pattonville School District is seeking nominations for the district's Teacher of the Year. This recognition program is designed to honor outstanding educators. All non-supervisory certified staff are eligible. The district honoree will be announced during District Appreciation Night on May 7. The district-level honoree will represent Pattonville in the state Teacher of the Year program.

Each school will select a building-level Teacher of the Year. The honoree from each building will become semifinalists for the district honor. Information provided by these semifinalists will be received by a selection committee, which will chose three finalists to be interviewed for the district honor. Selection is based on each nominee's commitment, dedication, worth ethic and skills, demeanor and personal expression. To see more about the program process, click here.

Those eligible for the award include classroom teachers, counselors, librarians and instructional specialists. Special School District (SSD) teachers at Pattonville will be eligible for building-level honors, but cannot advance to the finalist or district level due to SSD's separate recognition program.

Those who are not eligible for the award include: persons in administrative or supervisory positions; previous district winners; building-level winners within the past five years; staff with a Performance Improvement Plan; or persons who will retire or resign before or at the end of the year. All nominees will be recognized with their names being included on publicity materials and an invitation to be recognized by the Board of Education during a regular board meeting.

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 26.
