Pattonville Recognitions
Each year, the Pattonville School District names a district Teacher of the Year, Support Staff Employee of the Year and up to 10 Pride of Pattonville honorees. In 2021, the district introduced a Rookie of the Year award for staff who are new to the district. Each of these honorees is recognized during the Pattonville's District Appreciation Night in May.
Pattonville's Recognitions
Teacher of the Year - The Pattonville Teacher of the Year is selected based on service, dedication and communication skills. Based on nominations from the community, each school selects a building-level Teacher of the Year. From those candidates, a committee of their peers selects three finalists and a district-level honoree who is named during District Appreciation Night in May. That teacher will represent the district in the state Teacher of the Year program. Nominations are now open and will close on Jan. 8.
Support Staff of the Year - The district Support Staff Employee of the Year is selected based on service, dedication and work ethic. Based on nominations from the community, each school and a district services group selects a building-level Support Staff Employee of the Year. From those candidates, a committee of their peers selects three finalists and a district-level honoree who is named during District Appreciation Night in May. Nominations are now open and will close on Jan. 8.
Rookie of the Year - The Rookie of the Year program was introduced in 2021. All eligible teacher and support staff nominees who are in their first or second year in the district are automatically considered for the award. A committee will review the nominations and select one teacher Rookie of the Year and one support Staff Rookie of the Year. Those honorees will be announced in April and recognized at District Appreciation Night in May.
Pride of Pattonville - The district's most prestigious honor, the Pride of Pattonville award recognizes up to 10 honorees from the Pattonville community. Honorees can be district staff, volunteers or others who have gone above and beyond for the district. Nominations for Pride of Pattonville will open in January and the honorees are announced in April.
District Appreciation Night
Each May, Pattonville School District honors staff and volunteers during its annual appreciation event. District Appreciation Night takes place on the first Monday in May and is held in the auditorium at Pattonville High School. The event is open to the community. The awards program is preceded by a dinner for the honorees. During the event, the district recognizes the Teacher, Support Staff and Rookies of the Year, the Pride of Pattonville honorees, retiring staff, staff in a milestone service year, parent support organization volunteers, a school-business partner and any outgoing board of education members.
