A great day for the Pirate Nation

A great day for the Pirate Nation
Thursday, October 22, 2009
Pirates of all ages, from preschoolers to long-time graduates, enjoyed Pattonville’s Homecoming, which included a parade, barbecue, football game and dance.

At least three different Pattonville reunion groups participated in the day – including the Classes of 1959, 1969 and 1989. In addition, more than 40 Pirate Marching Band alumni from different graduating classes attended and performed in a pre-game show with current PHS band members. These alumni, along with some of the reunion groups, enjoyed the day’s events, including a tour of the school. It was a great day for the Pirate Nation, as current, former and future Pattonville High School students and their families joined in the celebration.

Winners of the float competition were as follows:
• Green and White Award - Class of 1959;
• Traveling Trophy (Best Elementary/Middle School) - Rose Acres Elementary;
• Pete’s Pick (Outstanding high school club/organization/sport float) - varsity girls volleyball;
• Outstanding Theme Costume Award - Briar Crest Elementary; and
• Outstanding Class Float - junior class.
