| Bond issue projects wrapping up in 2009-2010 school year |
| Thursday, August 27, 2009 |
Pattonville students returning to school this year were greeted with a variety of improvements to their schools - ranging from new flooring and lockers to a four-classroom addition. Various construction projects were completed over the summer as part of the $19 million zero tax rate increase bond issue
approved by voters in November 2006.
Nearly all projects in the bond issue have been completed, except cafeteria upgrades. These last remaining projects will be completed during the current school year. The most visible project completed over the summer was the addition of a four-classroom wing at Willow Brook Elementary. The addition replaced temporary classroom trailers that were used for a number of years. Other schools received improvements ranging from new lockers and ceiling tiles to flooring replacements and science lab updates. A list of projects funded by the bond issue at each school since 2006 is shown here.
In November 2006, Pattonville voters approved a bond issue that provided upgrades and improvements at all Pattonville schools. The bond issue projects were completed without raising Pattonville’s levy set aside for paying off long-term debt. The projects completed with bond funds were identified in a facilities plan that was developed by the parents, staff and community members and approved by the board in June 2006. The district will begin work on a new facilities study this school year.
