| Pattonville to offer "Common Sense Parenting" classes |
| Friday, August 21, 2009 |
The Pattonville School District will offer "Common Sense Parenting" classes again beginning in October. Only evening classes will be available.
The Common Sense Parenting program arms parents and other care providers with the skills they need to raise responsible children. The program offers logical strategies and easy-to-learn techniques for successful parent-child communication, discipline and positive attention, and family relationships. Through the classes, parents learn how to communicate clearly, balance discipline with affection, avoid power struggles, and maintain emotional control. Common Sense Parenting is a healthy, positive way for parents to be in charge of their families. The program stresses skills that build and reinforce healthy family relationships.
Those interested in attending these practical parenting classes may obtain a referral form from their child’s school guidance counselor. For more information, contact Carla Gardner, school social worker, at (314) 213-8411.
