News Archives April 2007 - June 2007 Pattonville Council of PTAs forum Pattonville to host “Book Battle” with 30 area schools Pattonville Heights Middle School will host its first annual area-wide Middle School Book Battle at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 1 in the Pattonville Heights gymnasium. More than 30 St. Louis area middle schools, including Pattonville’s own Holman Middle School and Remington Traditional School, have signed up to participate in the event.(continued) Pattonville kids ask parents: “Are You Smarter?” Jeff Foxworthy has been putting adults to the test in his new hit Fox TV show, “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” Now a group of Pattonville fifth-graders will be putting their own parents to the test in a fund-raiser modeled after the popular TV show on May 4.(continued) Willow Brook raises more than $7,400 for Heart When students and staff at Willow Brook Elementary in the Pattonville School District decided to raise money for the American Heart Association through its Jump Rope for Heart program, the school set a healthy goal of raising $1,900.(continued) Pattonville’s Wellness Run/Walk set for May 12 Pattonville will hold its 19th annual Pattonville Wellness Run/Walk on Saturday, May 12, beginning at Pattonville High School, 2497 Creve Coeur Mill Road in Maryland Heights. The 5K run/walk (3.1 miles) will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by a one-mile medal run/walk for children at 9:30 a.m.(continued) Briar Crest Elementary earns Missouri PTA award Briar Crest Elementary School in the Pattonville School District recently earned a state award for increasing membership in its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) by 10 percent.(continued) Burd named assistant principal at Positive School The Pattonville Board of Education on Feb. 27 named Donna Burd as an assistant principal at Pattonville High School. Her primary responsibility will be overseeing the Positive School alternative program for at-risk students at the high school.
