The Missouri Retired Teachers Association (MRTA) recently presented grants totaling $1,500 to three Pattonville educators.

The following teachers were selected to receive $500 grants from the organization:
  • David Knapp, a computer education teacher at Holman Middle School, who will use his grant funds to purchase individual microphones for students to use with their laptops in order to narrate movies or podcasts they create;
  • Heather Koepke, a Special School District resource teacher at Drummond Elementary School, who will use the grant funds to purchase a wide range of timers for her students to use to improve their time on task in the classroom; and
  • Pam Rasmussen, a math teacher at Pattonville Heights Middle School, who will use the grant funds to purchase a document camera to help her students interact with writing and editing math presentations.
Retired Holman principal Dr. John Pohl is president-elect of the MRTA. He and Dr. Lynn Beckwith, retired superintendent of the School District of University City, presented the grant checks to Pattonville staff.
